Who We Are

The Eswatini Copyright & Neighbouring Rights Society (ESWACOS) is a multi-rights Collective Management Organization (CMO) in Eswatini dedicated to safeguarding and advancing the economic interests of copyright holders across various creative industries. ESWACOS operates under the mandate granted through Copyright & Neighbouring Rights Act, Act No. 4 of 2018, which establishes ESWACOS as the sole organisation responsible for the administration of copyright and neighbouring rights in Eswatini.

The Role of ESWACOS

To be eligible for Our mission is to generate economic value for rights holders, both domestically and internationally, through comprehensive registration and licensing of their works. We are responsible for the collection and distribution of royalties, ensuring that creators receive fair compensation for the use of their works.

How do I register new works?

Complete the **Application for Registration of Copyright Form** and submit it to our offices, via email on documentation@eswacos.org.sz, or upload it online for every new work created. You can register online here

To be eligible for membership, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Authors, performers, and producers (Musicians, Film Makers, Writers, Artists, etc.) of eligible works who are a citizen of or resident in Eswatini.

• A legal entity which owns copyright and is incorporated under or in accordance with the laws of Eswatini (Record Labels, Publishers, Production Companies, Broadcasters, etc.).

  • ESWACOS ensures that Members receive copyright royalties for the use of their works locally and internationally.
  • ESWACOS helps to enforce Members’ rights against unauthorized use of their works.
  • ESWACOS handles the licensing of works, negotiations, and collection of license fees on behalf of members.
  • ESWACOS gives its Members access to grants and funding support through the Creative Industries Development Fund and Social Welfare Support Programs, such as free Funeral Cover.
  • ESWACOS provides its Members with training support on copyright management and monetization of their work.
